Encouragement for those stuck in the ascalon and shiverpeak Arenas.
I know that right now the first two arenas are completly farked. They are a joke. Its not possible to be an actual new player and enjoy pvp there. They have become havens of the lowest of the low. But dont lose heart in pvp in general, because revenge can be rather sweet.
I've got no PVP only characters as I run a very small guild and I have made pve characters with which to go thru the game again with my friends, guiding them. As opposed to cheapening the experience for them by running them everywhere. One of those was a Warrior, who in shiverpeak arena wore yaks bend gladiator gear and wielded a pretty decent hammer. He ran into the nameless mesmer in this story. This nameless, and might I add, talentless, dirtbag was wearing droks and using Illusionary weaponry and thought oh so highly of himself when he defeated my warrior. I told him that such was fine, I'd be waiting for him with my original character when he got to the competition arena. Well, tonight was that night, and aside from the cool halloween shit, it was the most fun I've had all week in guild wars. Needless to say he was rendered pretty much ineffective, Then I got to gleefully taunt him about how hes not so tough when facing an opponent who's also in droks and wielding an elite skill. Of course, it was short lived, it wasnt long before he was hiding behind "offline" or maybe it was "ignore" and spamming me with hate, cause thats the cool thing to do... revenge IS a dish best served cold.

Congrats on the win. These people feed on the despair of others, glad you teach one a lesson. He probably back to the low arenas to vent his anger on other newcomers. But you cant do much bout it, human nature has its high and low points.

well let me be fair, his team did lose a member. Yet dispite that in the begining of the match I let him single me out (i knew he would, i'm a monk). I was backfired and phantasmed, but I rode that out and was able to heal myself enough to keep up, then the tables turned when I hit myself with SOJ and began chasing him around the arena, eventually I quit cause he was using some speed buff. I went back to helping my team and letting him do whatever, later in the match he attempted to kill me again but pretty much failed. Thus, having twice had the inititave on me, failing to kill me either time, and running from me each time, I'd say he was handled
